Bio

Bio

The versatile artist Dvora Barzilai was born in 1961 in Tel Aviv, where she spent the majority of her youth. inspired by the nearby, sleepy port town of Jaffa, home to many artists and fishermen, she already started drawing and painting as a child. She became a member of the editorial board of the school newspaper "Nizanim". At the Academy in Tel Aviv, she completed a degree in education and earned a Bachelors degree in Education from the LCC of Vienna. She studied painting, graphics, illustration and art print with the prestigious Israeli artists Michael Bloch, Dani Kehrman and Hanna Goldschmidt. At the Basis school in Netanya, she studied sculpture and print at the "Beit Haomanim" in Tel Aviv.

Dvora Barzilai draws the inspiration for her paintings and sculptures from the life she leads as an observant Jew. Religion and Jewish tradition are at the center of her work. Her art has already been exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad.
